It’s time to share all the books I’m adding to my 2025 March TBR! While I’ve been doing a horrible job keeping up with my TBR the past couple of months. I’m determined to get back on track and strike the perfect balance between enjoying all the library books and making a dent in my physical TBR. Let’s overview my reading goals for the month and dive into all the books I’m hoping to read.
March Reading Goals
- Reading Goal: 15 books
- Read 1 Nonfiction
- Read an Amazon First Reads E-Book
- Reread 1 Book
- Read 250 pages daily
Priority Reads
There are a few books that I’m highly anticipating reading this month these are the six that I’m making sure to read this month.
Bloodmarked by Tracey Deon | YA Fantasy Series
Last month I got so behind with my physical TBR that I was unable to read the second installment in this series and get caught up before the release. That’s fine because now I’ll be able to enjoy both Bloodmarked and Oathbound back to back! Looking forward to diving into this world!
Oathbound by Tracey Deon | YA Fantasy Series
March the 4th is the official release for Oathbound and I can’t be more excited. Please believe that as soon as I get off work I will run to the bookstore so that I can finally get my hands on this book! I haven’t been this excited about a series in a while!
Immortal Dark by Tigest Girma | YA Fantasy Series
I have been eagerly waiting to read this book since I placed a hold on it at my library back in October. And FINALLY, it’s my turn to enjoy this first installment in a Dark Academia series featuring vampires. Not just any type of vampire but BLACK VAMPIRES oh I’m sat!
Death of the Author by Nnedi Okorofor | Sci-Fi
This book is one of my most anticipated reads for 2025 and I’m beyond excited to read it. It follows a down-on-her-luck disabled writer who on her darkest night begins writing a Sci-Fi novel Rusted Robots which becomes highly successful. Yet, things take a turn when art begins to imitate life.
Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi | YA Fantasy Series
This is yet another Young Adult Fantasy series that I’m eager to start. I’ve heard nothing but fascinating things regarding this series. I’m excited to follow the journey of Zélie as she navigates the loss of her mother and the magic of her land and people. While she tries to fight against a Prince and a system that seeks to destroy magic for good.
Good Dirt by Charmaine Wilkerson | Historical Fiction
I so enjoy stories with topics and themes involving complex family dynamics that span generations. And I love stories that explore the multi-dimensions of grief. This one fits that bill as we’re following Ebby in the wake of two tragedies. The loss of her brother when she was ten and her fiance leaving her at the alter with no explanation. In a quest for peace and new beginnings, she’s caring for her friend’s home in France when her past catches up to her.
For She Is Wrath by Emily Varga | YA Fantasy
This story is a reimagining of the classic The Count of Monte Cristo and I’m eager to read it! This is another book I’ve been waiting to become available at my library for months but I finally have it and looking forward to experiencing it for myself!
2025 March TBR
Here’s the rest of the books I’m planning to devour this month as long as my library holds don’t interfere with my plans .😏
Dust by Alison Stine | YA Fiction
I found this novel on a list and it caught my eye as possibly being an interesting read. We follow a young girl, Thea with a hearing disability amid a controlling family that has fled to Colorado due to her father’s premonition. She’s cut off from the world and not allowed any outside influence in the form of education and media. However, while at her job at the café she meets Ray who’s deaf. They connect as he teaches her sign language as she begins to realize all she’s truly missing.
You Are Fatally Invited by Ande Pliego | Mystery Thriller
I haven’t been having the best luck with mystery thrillers lately but I’m hoping this provides the thrills and edge I’ve been missing. In this story, we’re following thriller authors as they travel to a writing retreat at a private manor off the coast of Maine. Where authors Alastor and Mila plan a fun interactive retreat. Yet, Mila has plans of her own to exact a little revenge that is until one of the guests is discovered murdered. Throwing a wrench in Mila’s plan and forcing her to unmask the culprit before she’s next.
Water Moon by Samantha Sotto Yambao | Cozy Fantasy
Once I saw the beautiful cover of this book I was immediately enthralled and wanted to read it. So, on my TBR it goes! Also, this seems like such an intriguing premise. We follow a pawnshop in Tokoyo that trades in regrets as opposed to trinkets and goods. Hana’s preparing to take over the pawnshop following her father’s retirement. Yet, on the morning of her first day, she wakes to find the pawnshop in disarray and her father missing. She meets a stranger who offers to help her find her father and uncover the mystery he left behind.
Democracy in Retrograde by Sami Sage, Emily Amick | Nonfiction
I happened upon this book at my library and it sounded like an interesting read. So, I though what the heck and here we are. In this book there’s discussion and insight regarding how to navigate today’s political climate that enables you to live out your truth in your community and life to empower you to be a more informed and active citizen.
Us Against You by Fredrik Backman | Literary Fiction
I started this poignant series in January and bawled my eyes out as it was a very emotional read for me. Now, I believe I’m ready to dive back into this small hockey town and sit with these complex characters to see the aftermath of the events that transpired in the first book. I’m keeping a box of tissues close by.

A Fate of Onyx and Ivory by O’Junea Brown | Fantasy Series
While scrolling on Threads I saw someone mention this series and said say less. Now, I’m finally holding myself to task and planning to read this book. We follow Amira desperately making a bargain with a witch to ensure provisions for her family. On her way home she meets a powerful faerie that takes her to an alternate realm. As she becomes adjusted to this new realm of possibilities she must decide between her family and her future with the Fae.
If He Had Been with Me by Laura Nowlin | YA Fiction
Last month I started my re-read of this book to celebrate my getting the special edition last year for Christmas. However, due to my library holds becoming available at once, it fell to the wayside. So, I’m determined to finish my re-read this month.
What Lies in the Woods by Kate Alice Marshall | Mystery Thriller
Yet another book I started last month to soft DNF due to my library holds this was getting pretty interesting so I’m looking forward to continuing with it. We’re following Naomi, Cassidy, and Olivia the three young girls who survived an attack in the woods that nearly claimed Naomi’s life. Yet, their testimony was able to put away a serial killer who was threatening the young women in their community. Yet, they weren’t honest about what happened. Twenty years later, he dies in prison causing old memories to surface and igniting Olivia’s desire to tell the truth. Leading Naomi on a quest to find out what really happened in the woods that fateful day.
Local Woman Missing by Mary Kubica | Mystery Thriller
I could be taking a risk with all the Mystery Thriller selections this month. However, I’m a huge fan of Mary Kubica so I’m excited to read another novel by her. In this story, we’re following the disappearances of Shelby Tebow, Meredith Dickey, and six-year-old Delilah. After a failed search attempt the case goes cold without any revelations regarding the missing women and their plight. Until Delilah returns now eleven and the shocking truth regarding what happened to her and where she’s been revealed a complicated truth that no one’s ready for.
These are the books that I’m seeking to read this month. Let me know if you’ve read any of these books or if you’re itching to add them to your TBR. Let me know in the comments below. Happy reading friends!!
